Campbell Collegiate in Regina commemorates students from Fort Simpson (Bompas Hall) and Old Sun

Over 100 Campbell students participated in Project of Heart this spring. Under the leadership of Jessica Hodsman, their grade 10 Native Studies teacher, 724 tiles were decorated in a gesture of reconciliation memorializing two Indian Residential Schools. Old Sun IRS in Alberta and Fort Simpson (Bompas Hall) in the North West Territories were the schools chosen.

The tiles were decorated with either permanent marker or paint. Following the decorating, an Elder was invited to the school to smudge the tiles and speak to the participants.

Project of Heart wants to thank the staff and students of Campbell Collegiate for their participation in this national endeavour!
